Welcome/Croeso!

Welcome the Children’s & Youth Website for St Davids Diocese.

Our aim is to equip and resource those around the Diocese who are working with children, young people and their families so that we can share God’s love with them.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information or have an idea you would like to share.

You can also click to ‘follow’ us (there’s a button at the bottom of the page) which means that when we add something new to the site you will be notified of it rather than missing something new and exciting! Please tell others about the website so that it can resource as many people around St Davids Diocese and perhaps even further afield too!

Messy Church Burton

A Fantastic day was had by all at the Mission Hall Hill Mountain Last Sunday when we opened our hall doors to a brand new experience for all of us, Messy Church!!

The story of Noah’s Ark was made and glittered and debated over, and of course told with great gusto as the wind and rain howling around the hall added to the drama of it all- at one point we thought Noah himself might arrive to rescue us all as the floods steadily rose in the village!!

An excellent time of fellowship with a bring and share Sunday tea rounded off the day very nicely indeed, tummies content and arms filled with glittering, sequined offerings to God we all went home sticky but smiling, and that was just the adults!!!

Blessings Marianne

If youd like to set up your own Messy Church please contact Naomi who will be pleased to help!!!

Training Day!

Saturday 28th – Youth Leader WWH Day, Trinity College Chapel, Carmarthen 9.30am – 3pm

Fancy starting some youth work in your parish or need a boost of energy and inspiration? Come to WWH? (Why, What & How?) and find out why we need to do youth work, what can be done and how it can be done from 2 youth workers who are already ‘doing it’! Be inspired, share your ideas and ask for advice!

New Page added!

We’ve added a new page to the ‘Resources‘ section of the site. With so many festivals and celebrations it can be easy to run out of new, fresh ideas so the ‘Seasonal Ideas‘ page is designed to help you find some new ideas. Please help us with this page by sending in your ideas to us via the Contact Us page.

The current theme is Pentecost! We will try and keep far enough ahead so that you have time to plan and find the relevant materials.

Coming to a town near you!

We have 3 events (5 really) coming up in the next few weeks that we would love to have you join us for. Click on the links for .pdf versions that you can print off and share with others.

Godly Play

What part do you play?

Christ – Like………..

The cathedral Church in St Davids this morning was full of clergy of all shapes and sizes! and of course our Gnomi too, amongst others! We celebrated Chrism Eucharist together. A service where all those who have been ordained into Holy Orders retake their vows before God and the congregation to continue to support and care for the communities in which they serve and to remember that Christ came to serve and we should all follow His example in the way we live our lives.

That’s something for all of us to remember this week that during lent and Easter we need to think about how ‘Christ like’ we are in our lives. Do we help others? Do we serve our communities? Do we allow others that we care for to care for us in turn?

Don’t forget to look at your local church websites and notice boards this week, be a part of the sorrow of the crucifixion and the sheer joy of His resurrection……go on you know you need to……..

Have a wonderful Easter……am I allowed to say the ‘A’ (lleluia) word before Sunday?!!!!!   Better not!!!

much love

Marianne

Welcome to our family…..

Image

A big welcome to our family in Christ, to ten beautiful children, who were baptised in a family service set in the school hall of St Marks VA School Merlins Bridge today(monday 22nd March). The service was a real joy, filled with music, prayer and student participation! The liturgy was traditional, yet creative and so sensitively led by Haverfordwest Curate Revd Harri Williams, he was glowing with pride as he asked Gods’ Blessing upon his children and their families, friends and teachers alike. It was a real priviledge to be a part of the afternoon, new life in all its glory!!!

Please hold these little ones in your prayers as they grown in Gods Grace and Love

Blessings

Marianne
